Jamaat e Islami announces to support PTI candidate for NA-154 ,Jahangir Khan Tareen

PTI & Jamaat islami Press Conf PicLahore: Jamaat e Islami announced to support  Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf candidate for NA-154 ,Jahangir Khan Tareen for by-polls scheduled to be held on 23 December by-polls in Lodhran.

The Delegation of PTI led by their Punjab organizer Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar  met Secretary General Jamaat e Islami Liaqat Baloch and  Ameer Jamaat e Islami Lahore in Mansoora and discussed matters of  electoral reforms, public issues and methods to eradicate corruption.JI secretary general Liaqat Baloch said that although PTI contacted for support late but even then we will support their candidate,he added.

They also agreed to form mutual cooperation to solve the issues. PTI deputy oragniser Umar Sarfraz Cheema,Advisor To PTI chairman Abdul Aleem Khan were part of PTI delegation. Sources said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak and Jahangir Khan Tareen also contacted JI leadership to back PTI candidate in NA-154.JI leadership assured them to support PTI in Lodhran By-polls.Sarwar while addressing a Press Conference thanked JI leadership for supporting Jahangir Tareen.

He vowed to bring electoral reforms in country with the help of JI. And form an effective mechanism to end corruption. “evidently, corruption is more dangerous than cancer for country and without eradication of corruption, depoliticizatio  of institutions prosperity can’t be achieved,” Sarwar said adding that  KPK government has done de-politicisation of institutions where chief minister can’t meddle into affairs of government and can’t transfer even a single policeman. “de-politicisation has brought big change in KPK and we we want same change in whole country,he asserted.

Sarwar alleged that present electoral system is incompetent to deal with present electoral problems and he called for reforms in electoral system and strengthening the justice system so that elections become productive democratic activity instead of the useless activity bringing more harm than good for democracy of pakistan. Government  used national institutions and resources to influence public opinion in LG polls.

He added, while answering a question, he said that depoliticsed police will arrest culprits and criminals instead of protecting them. Liaqat baloch reaffirmed to back PTI in bye election and continue struggling against corruption. “government is hampering the national action plan implementation because they want to sustain corruption and terrorism for their political motives causing damage to nation”,He alleged.

Leaders of PTI and JI supported to give full powers to rangers to curb the menace  terrorism and corruption in karachi.He said that election commision of pakistan is neither autonomous nor independent and without bringing structural reforms it will shake the confidence of people in  democracy and electoral system,he added.
