Head of DFID Pakistan Ms. Joanna Reid visits Punjab IT Board

Lahore. Chairman PITB Dr. Umar Saif presents memanto to the head of DEFID Pakistan Ms. Jaonna Reid. (18-12-15)Lahore: Newly appointed head of the Department for International Department (DFID) Pakistan Ms. Joanna Reid visited Punjab IT Board (PITB) last day.

The Chairman PITB Dr. Umar Saif briefed her about the ICT interventions being used by the PITB to bring transparency, accountability and efficiency in the Punjab Government departments. Inspired by the success stories of the PITB, Ms. Joanna Reid complimented “Blown away by the technology and its relevance to change for making people’s lives better.

We share an aim!”  Dr. Saif explained through a detailed presentation how e-Governance initiatives taken by PITB in various fields of education, health, police, good governance, citizen facilitation, law etc were being recognized by the other countries and provinces.

He put special focus on Dengue Tracking System, Disease Surveillance Program, e-Learn Punjab, Smart monitoring of schools and hospitals, Citizen Feedback Monitoring Program, e-Khidmat Centers, e-Stamping program, e-Procurement system, Crime Intelligence Systems, ITU’s ATM project for drinking water , e-Vaccination and Plan9.

Ms. Joanna Reid lauded the efforts of PITB under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Umar Saif and assured that the DFID would enhance its collaboration with the PITB particularly in the education and health sector.

Dr. Saif presented her a memento of the Arfa Software Technology Park at the end of the meeting. The Punjab DFID representative Mr. Ben French was also present in the meeting.
