Imran Khan’s visit to India was as a Sportsman: Pervaiz Rashid

Info Minister pervaiz rashidLahore: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid said that PTI Chairman Imran Khan had discussed just trivial matters with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and ignored the vital issues of Kashmir, Sir Creek and Siachen.
Talking to the media after addressing a seminar on the "Role of Islamic banking in the economic development of Pakistan" here, he said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman should have dilated on all the all important issues but he ended up talking about the sports matters during his meeting with Prime Minister Modi.
Imran Khan's visit to India was that of a sportsman and not as a politician, he said in response to a question.
The PTI chief, he said, had started following Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif's doctrine on the foreign policy and he would soon begin following the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's policy on internal affairs of the country as well.
About the Rangers powers in Sindh, Pervaiz Rashid said all the political parties had supported the operation in Karachi.
Earlier addressing the seminar, Senator Pervaiz said international economy and the indigenous economy could not be treated separately. Both the economies were connected with each other and as such Pakistan's economy was linked with international economy, he added.
He said the value of money was determined by the ways adopted a bank to sustain the worth of capital deposited by clients for a long period of time. The bank took measures to stop the capital's devaluation.
The Federal Minister said the services of the bankers, who had devised ways to check the devaluation of capital, were praiseworthy. He said he was praying for the success of Islamic banking in the country.
Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar presented a souvenir to the Information Minister on the occasion.
Meanwhile;Federal Minister for Information,Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid on Saturday said that literature and journalism had deep connections and closely link with each other.
Addressing a seminar on "Sahafat, Adab and Adaab" at the Alhamra here, he said,"The Holy Quran has made the people aware of the importance of pen and education."
The topic of the seminar, he said, had high value regarding formation of a society. "If we look into history the three elements have deep connection with one another."  Journalism and literature were incomplete without each other, he added.
He said literature and journalism strengthened each other as people associated with them had the same opinion about the people and the evolution of a society.He said the topic invited all to think because it had close relation with culture, which played a vital role in the promotion of unity, brotherhood and solidarity in any country.
"True and fearless writers and journalists nurture the brain of an individual and big revolutions occurred due to literature and journalism," he added.
He said unfortunately during the last one decade, the menace of terrorism had emerged in the world and Pakistan and other countries of this region also got affected from it. Pakistan and its armed forces, he added, had rendered unprecedented sacrifices for rooting out terrorism.
The minister also appreciated the role of writers and journalists, who through their work were contributing in the war against terrorism.
He said the power of pen was very effective as the writing process was a part of thinking and understanding.
The minister said the services of Attaul Haq Qasmi were significant for making Lahore a centre of literary and cultural activities.
He said the Alhamra Art Council hall was filled with people from different walks of life which reflected that the youth had great love for literature.He said the youth were not only benefitting from modern technology but their relation with pen and book was also strengthening.
On the occasion, Arif Nizami said today the standard of journalism had been changed and there was space for bringing improvement in this regard.He said journalists should pay attention to the grammar of their news items and higher education should play its role for the training of journalists.
Mujeebur Rehman Shami, Naveed Chaudhry, Sohaib Marghoob,Javed Chaudhry and others were also present.
