Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that aim of his visit to UK is to seek maximum cooperation in different sectors for Pakistan. He said that Britain is already extending cooperation to Pakistan especially Punjab government in education, health and skill development and during his recent visit, cooperation in these sectors will further be promoted.
Talking to media after London arrival, the Chief Minister said that there is a great demand of Pakistani manpower in skill development sector, however, the desired results cannot be achieved due to lack of modern training. He said that desired positive results will be achieved in skill development during his visit to UK and not only Pakistani manpower will acquire professional expertise but country’s economy will also strengthen.
The Chief Minister said that every moment of his visit to Britain will be utilized for paving the way of progress and prosperity of people of Punjab and Pakistan and cooperation of UK is of paramount importance in this regard. He expressed the hope that during his visit to Britain, cooperation of British institutions will also be acquired in Knowledge Park Project.
Earlier, when Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif reached London on a 5-day visit to UK, warm welcome was accorded to him. On this occasion, senior officials of British government and a large number of Muslim League-N workers were present on the occasion.
During his visit, the Chief Minister will hold meetings with National Security Advisor, Secretary of State for Foreign & Common Wealth Affairs, Secretary Home, Secretary of State for International Development, Minister of State for International Development and British Department for International Development.
He will also address UK-Pakistan energy infrastructure conference. He will also meet Trade and Investment Minister of UK and London based Pakistani community. The 5-day tour of Chief Minister is the busiest tour.
