Lahore: Provincial Minister for Minorities Affairs and Human Rights Khalil Tahir Sindhu has said that registration and training of volunteers at every level is essential under UN Volunteers Campaign for building their capacity for the achievement of the objectives.
He was addressing a workshop arranged by UN Volunteers Pakistan on the role of volunteerism and the achievement of development objectives at a local hotel, today. Programme Officer of UN Volunteers Muhammad Akhtar-ud-Din highlighted the aims and objectives of the programme and stressed the need for participation of the youth for the success of the programme.
Khalil Tahir Sindhu said that volunteers programme starts from home and school. He said that through various awareness programmes at community level, efforts are necessary for the provision of health and educational facilities, poverty alleviation and supply of potable water.
