Lahore: A singing/poetry competition was organized in collaboration with National Accountability Bureau at Institute of Communication Studies, Punjab University with the aim of eradication of corruption in the society here on, Tuesday.
Hundreds of students from schools, colleges and universities from across Punjab participated in the event.
In College and University category a total 34 participants performed out of which Anees Arshad of GCU stood first, Asad Ali from GCU clinched second position while Zainab Rehman of Punjab Group of colleges (PGC) stood third. In school category competition, Javed Ali of MC Boys School Kasur Road clinched first position. Second position was secured by Rimsha Sabir of Govt. Girls High School Rasoolpur Kasur, while Al-Qadar Butt of Govt. M.G.H of Baghbanpur Lahore School grabbed third position.
NAB Director Awareness and prevention Maj (r) Ghulam Rasool, Ms Mehwish, Dr Noshina Saleem and Shabbir Sarwar distributed certificated among position holders.
Contest Judges were Prof Israr Chisti, Ali Hassan Sonu from PU, Ahmed Khan from UCP and Syed Farukh Hussain Shah from Sunrise School for Blinds. Participants performed their hearts out in both competitions with scintillating performances from government schools, private schools, colleges and universities. Faculty members and large number of audience were present on the occasion.
In poetry contests, university/ college category first position went to Shahbaz Gohar of Post Graduate College, Ateeq-ur Rehman stood second of Agriculture University Islamabad, while Feroza Ahmed from GCU stood third.
At secondary school level category, Shazil Iman stood first, Saman Ahmed clinched second position while Irfan Sami stood third. At primary school level poetry competition Musa Shakir stood first, Aleeza Fatima Kazmi clinched second position while Roshan Nazar grabbed third position. Judges were Syeda Fatimah Ghazal, Masood Malhi and Maqdad Aqdas.
