The work of Iqbal would be included in the curriculum:President Mamnoon Hussain

President Mamnoon HussainLahore: President Mamnoon Hussain has said that the entire nation can attain its destination by following the teachings of Allama Iqbal adding for this reason work of Iqbal would be included in the curriculum and training of new generation would be done on these lines.

The President said this while addressing a special ceremony on the occasion of Iqbal Day at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad on Monday. Minister of State for Federal Education & Training Engineer Baligh-ur-Rehman, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed Chairman Higher Education Commission, renowned expert in Iqbaliyat Prof. Dr. Tehseen Firaqi, Director Iqbal Academy Ahmed Javed, Prof. Dr. Zahid Munir Amir and Zulfiqar Cheema also addressed the ceremony.

The President said that usually politicians are blamed for national problems and emphasized that this is not completely true as every segment of society is responsible for problems plaguing the country. The President underlined that it is need of the hour that the whole nation should stand up for addressing the national issues. The President hoped that the country would not face any further problems and all of us would collectively resolve the issues and put the country on path of progress and prosperity.

The President said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would be a game changer not only for Pakistan but for the entire region. The President emphasized that the talk of changing the route of economic corridor is not true.

The President directed the heads of educational institutions to adopt an effective strategy for inculcating teachings of Iqbal amongst the new generation so that it is conscious and knowledgeable about the thoughts of its forefathers.

The President said that Allama Iqbal is a universal poet and his message is not only for Pakistan and the Muslims but for the entire world. “Allama Iqbal is a great asset for the nation and his teachings can never be ignored”, stated the President.

After delivering the address, the President met the students present in the ceremony. The President impressed upon the students about the importance of education and asked them to play a leadership role in Pakistan’s struggle for development and progress after completing their studies.
