Mandi Bahauddin(Sher Gondal): Mandi Bahauddin veterans gathered at press club and held rally against government for showing apathy to their demands. Addressing the rally old soldiers called for implementation of their main demand of setting up soldier board in Mandi Bahauddin district and one rank one pension scheme.
They said in absence of soldier board, retired and serving soldiers and their families including widows of martyrs have to visit soldier board Gujrat in connection with their problems relating to pension and other welfare matters after bearing vagaries of long journey and expenditures.

They said with regret that their requests were not being responded by Defense Minister as well as Chairman Joint Staff committees.
They urged the concerned authorities to take notice of their plight and order setting up soldier board at Mandi Bahauddin at the earliest. If their demand especially of soldier board is not accepted in due course of time, ex-servicemen with soldiers’ widows would hold “sit in” in front of DCO office, they warned.
A dozen of widows of soldiers and martyrs also joined the rally and demanded for the soldiers’ board.
