ECP to take notice of the irregularities committed in the local govt elections :Ch Sarwar

Ch Sarwar & Jhangir Khan TareenLahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Punjab organizer Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar has said the rulers politics based on ghundaism is not democracy but dictatorial.

Chaudhary Sarwar was addressing a local government election candidates’ meeting at Chairman’s Secretariat and speaking to workers after the funeral prayers of party worker Sarfraz Ahmad on Monday. PTI Punjab deputy organizer Umer Sarfraz Cheema, Nadeem Haroon, Sheikh Qaiser Ayub and others were also present on the occasion.

He said the PML-N would have to mend its ways of silencing its political opponents, otherwise there would be serious repercussions. He said nobody could silence the PTI and it would keep on fighting against the illegal tactics being employed by the PML-N. He said the PTI would strongly contest the local government elections in the next two phases and defeat the PML-N.

Chaudhary Sarwar said Punjab is witnessing jungle law, where rulers and police were considering themselves above the law. He lamented that Punjab had been converted into a police state. He said the democracy in the country was now threatened by rulers’ ghundaism and the politics of bloodshed. After the declaration of results, he said, the PML-N goons had gone mad and killing PTI workers in Faisalabad, Nankana and Kasur. He held the rulers as responsible of the PTI workers’ murders and the party would soon hold the incumbent rulers accountable.

He said the PTI was ready to fight against the PML-N in the next two phases of local government elections. He said the PTI workers were united under the leadership of Imran Khanand ready to run their election campaign. He said party’s all leaders and workers would enthusiastically participate in the election campaign and disseminate Imran Khan’s message at every household.

Chaudhary Sarwar urged the Election Commission of Pakistan to take notice of the irregularities committed in the local government elections and ensure that the next two phases of the elections should be held in a free, fair and transparent manner.
