No causality has been occurred during the elections except minor injuries : IGP

Lahore: The way Punjab Police’s officers/officials discharged their duties on the occasion of local bodies is a proof that this force is equally capable to perform their duties for the protection and security of the people in any circumstance. No causality has been occurred during the elections except minor injuries reported in few districts.

This was stated by inspector general police Punjab Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera in his message addressed to the police force here today. Meanwhile, according to the reports received from 12 districts, 116 violators of code of conduct have been arrested so far. These violators included 42 of PML(N), 30 PTI, 19 PPP and 25 independent. Police also recovered 14 weapons from the arrested violators. Total 41 received small injuries whereas 33 FIRs have been lodged against them. In Lahore 6 FIRs, Nankana 4, Kasur 5, Gujrat 4, Bhakkar 1, Faisalabad 2, Vihari 4, Okara 5 and in Pakpattan 1 FIR was registered.
