Lahore: The people of Jammu and Kashmir and the people of Pakistan observe October 27, every year as Kashmir Black Day, to condemn the unlawful landing of Indian troops in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, in complete disregard of International Law. Since then, India has been illegally occupying the state of Jammu and Kashmir against the wishes of its people in utter violation of UN Security Council Resolutions.
The people of Jammu and Kashmir have never accepted the Indian occupation. They have been waging a heroic struggle against India, in which over 90,000 Kashmiris have laid down their lives. Despite very serious atrocities and human rights violations, the valiant people of Jammu and Kashmir have remained resolute and steadfast in their just struggle. India can never succeed in suppressing the struggle of Kashmiris for freedom.
Kashmir remains the core dispute between India and Pakistan. Without the resolution of this issue in accordance with the wishes of the people of the Jammu and Kashmir, peace in the region will remain elusive. The international community must play an active role in impressing upon India to implement the UN Resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir that call for a UN administered free and impartial Plebiscite.
Pakistan will continue to raise the Kashmir issue and human rights violations in IOK at all important international fora. The Government and the people of Pakistan will continue to extend their unflinching moral, political and diplomatic support and urge the international community to ensure the implementation of the UN Resolutions on Kashmir.
We express our complete solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir. We assure our Kashmiri brothers and sisters that the government and the people of Pakistan stand shoulder to shoulder with them. We will continue to extend to them our unflinching support in their just struggle for self determination.
