Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan cannot afford negative and protest politics. He said that the elements criticizing projects for changing destiny of the poor masses have no interest with the welfare of the common man and they should give up this negative approach and follow constructive politics.
He was talking to the delegation of office-bearers of Pakistan Muslim League-N, here today. He said that strengthening of the economy and elimination of terrorism and energy crisis is the top priority of the PML-N government and all out resources are being utilized for this purpose. He said that due to solid economic policies of the government led by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, national economy has strengthened and foreign exchange reserves have reached a record level.
He said that due to the efforts made under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for eradication of terrorism and resolution of energy crisis, the country will be steered out of problems and put on the road to progress and prosperity. He said that the dream of overcoming energy crisis will be realized and the nation will be rid of load-shedding.
Shahbaz Sharif said that all out efforts are being made for elimination of terrorism and controlling energy problems. He said that power houses based on gas, coal, hydel, solar and other sources of power generation are being set up to produce energy.
The Chief Minister further said that work is being carried out expeditiously on a coal-based power plant in Sahiwal. He said that foundation stone of gas-based power projects has been laid in Bhikki and Haveli Bahadur Shah. Similarly, he said that foundation stone of gas-based power house project in Balloki will soon be laid.
Shahbaz Sharif said that energy projects are the steps towards development of agriculture and industrial sectors besides creation of job opportunities and their completion will not only resolve energy crisis in Pakistan but an era of progress and prosperity will also usher in the country.
Shahbaz Sharif said that PML-N government is making all out efforts for removing darkness from the country. He said that agriculture is the backbone of the national economy and the government led by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has announced a historic Kissan Package of 341 billion rupees for providing relief to small cultivators which will also help in progress of agriculture sector. He said that Khadim-e-Punjab Rural Roads programme has also been started for the provision of quality transport facilities in rural areas. He said that this programme of repair and rehabilitation of rural roads will be a milestone in the development of rural economy and provision of basic amenities to the rural population. He said that public service agenda of PML-N will change the destiny of the nation.
