Lahore: Punjab University Dean Faculty of Behavioral and Social Sciences Prof Dr Zakria Zakir said that disempowerment of youth has created problems like terrorism, extremism, illiteracy and social evils in the country.
He was addressing the orientation session of Active Citizen Program jointly organized by Punjab University and 24 other universities, HEC and the British Council at Pervaiz Hassan Environmental Law Auditorium here on Thursday. A large number of faculty members and students from various departments were present on the occasion.
Dr Zakria Zakir said that our country could not progress if our youth would not actively participate in the development process. He said that unfortunately an individual has failed to protect his/her rights while history bears the fact that an individual can change map of the world. He said that we could resolve all the challenges which the country was facing. He advised the students to work for the development of the country with the feelings of patriotism.
