Lahore: Principal PGMI and Lahore General Hospital (LGH) Professor Dr. Khalid Mahmood has said that hospital caters the needs of whole of the country. That is why a number of revolutionary steps have been taken in order to convert this organization into a patient friendly hospital. The hospital has been divided into many zones to ensure efficient administration through a Smart Management System.

Dr. Khalid Mahmood said that administrative doctors have been entrusted with the responsibilities of cleanliness and sanitation, staff duties and discipline. No staff member including administrative doctors would be allowed to leave shift until next shift staff comes. He said that the signature of Head Nurse on indent book has been made compulsory. She will also be in-charge of all stocks, patients’ charts and ward management, he added.

Principal PGMI further said that no staff member would be allowed to go on leave without prior approval. He told that all staff has been provided uniforms and they will have to display their ID cards during duty hours. He said that no compromise will be made on cleanliness and sanitation; therefore, administrative doctors should come out of their rooms and inspect the wards to solve the problems of patients as well as staff. He said that a monitoring committee has been constituted to monitor the performance of the staff.
