Punjab Police devised a security Plan for maintaining peace in Muharram-ul-Haram

IG Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera cancels Punjab police official holidays of EidLahore: Security Plan of Punjab Police during Muharram-ul-Haram has been finalized in a meeting held at Central Police Office, Lahore under the chairmanship of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera. According to this plan aerial surveillance of taken out processions and majalis and use of 39 drone cameras was decided.

Moreover, the decision of the complete recording of the speeches delivered by Shia leaders and joint flag march of sensitive areas with other law enforcing agencies was also finalized. Whereas, in metropolitan Lahore, 15 surveillance vans will be used during Muharram-ul-Haram, according to the security plan.

All RPOs and DPOs through video link and Addl: IGP Traffic, Rai Altaf Hussain, Addl: IGP Welfare and Finance, Sohail Khan, Addl: IGP Operations, Capt. (R) Arif Nawaz, Addl: IGP Legal, Ali Zul Nurain Sheikh, DIG Headquarters, Farooq Mazhar, DIG Establishment-I, Azhar Hameed Khokhar, DIG Establishment-II, Muhammad Nawaz Warraich, DIG PHP, Salman Chaudhry, AIG Logistics, Humayun Bashir Tarar, AIG Legislative Business, Waqar Abbasi and SSP MT, also attended the meeting in CPO.

The meeting decided to deploy 148052 police officers / officials for the security of all taken out 9148 processions and 36057 Majalis including 870 flashing points, 337 most important flashing points of the province.

The deployment will be included 835 gazetted officers, 1567 Inspectors, 5117 Sub-Inspectors, 7424 ASIs, 11968 HCs, 80595 Constables, 23960 Police Qaumi Razakars and 16586 officials of special police. Besides, 39085 volunteers including 32661 male and 6424 female volunteers will perform moharram duties.

According to the security plan 1541 CCTV cameras, 8930 Metal Detectors and 123 Walk through gates will be installed at sensitive places for the search and monitoring purpose.

Ban on pillion riding and mobile phone jamming will be decided on the request of the field officers respectively.

In case to handle any untoward situation, 75 companies of Pakistan Army and 12 companies Punjab Rangers will remain on stand by position.

All kinds of leaves have been cancelled of all operational staff during moharram-ul-haram, decided in the meeting.
