PTI announces its complete support to the just demands of APTMA

APTMA protestLahore: PTI Punjab Organizer Ch Muhammad Sarwar took a hard stance against the 138 billion rupees surge in the cost of Neelum-Jehlum Hydel Power Project and called it a robbery on behest of government on Wednesday.

He was talking to the delegation of party members who visited him on Wednesday in Chairman Secretariat, Lahore.

This would result in to power tariff hike and higher inflationary rates, he warned. He called the government responsible for the loss of 180 billion rupees caused due to strike of APTMA for resolution of its demands. Announcing complete support to the just demands of APTMA, he said, the PML-N was ruling the country in a fashion to destroy its economy completely.

He advised the rulers to focus and fix the dilapidating state of national industries instead of foreign visits every now and then. He declared not to spare those responsible for shifting voters in and out of NA-122 ahead of recent by-polls because this, he said, is a crime against public and democracy.

The rise in the cost of Neelum Jehlum up to 416 bn rupees is sheer injustice with the public exchequer and would bring a tide of inflation making the lives of common people more miserable. This, coming after the increase in Nandipur Power Project’s cost, he said, is the epitome of bad governance, ill-planning and corruption. These amounts are then recovered from the public in shape of overbilling, he lamented.

He further stated that the government should focus on repairing the damage done to national industry that brings huge foreign reserves to the country but he regretted the government was more interested in lending from IMF. He supported all the just demands of the traders across the country. It is beyond any doubt that government itself was responsible for the closure of textile mills from Khyber to Karachi as it was not ready to meet the right demands of APTMA owing to its own bad governance.
