Punjab Revenue Authority outperformed its previous performance

Lahore: A spokesman of Punjab Revenue Authority has said that the authority has been working efficiently in regards of tax awareness and collection. He said that the performance of PRA has been steady and remarkable with reference to the every past year as it has always grown and rose positively.

Giving a comparison from different sectors with respect to the revenue collection for the months of July and August 2015 compared with the performance of PRA for the same two months during 2014, the spokesman said that In Banking / Non-Banking/ Insurance sector, PRA has outperformed its previous performance as the collection for July 2014 was 588.648 million rupees which increased to the level of 641.717 estimating gain to the level of 9.02%.

Similarly, the August 2015 collection increased to 899.939 million rupees from 794.301 depicting 13.30% gain. The Withholding Agent sector saw a boom as it increased to 129.38% during July 2015 in comparison to July 2014 and the month of August 2015 also noticed an increase of 153.76% as compared to August 2014. The spokesman said the collection from security agencies has also been remarkable as it increased to 20.82% and 43.46% for July and August 2015 respectively. The gain in Construction Services Sector has been exceptional as it increased to the level of 324.55% and 263.30% during July and August 2015 respectively, in comparison to the same months during 2014.

The spokesman giving further details of remarkable development in regards of Revenue Collection particularly with reference to July and August 2015 in comparison with July and August 2014 informed that Restaurant sector (July, August 2015 ; 13.60%, 12.48%), Courier Services (July, August 2015 ; 6.60%, 9.99%), Technical scientific & engineering consultant including technical inspection and certification services (July, August 2015 ; 27.11%), Hotels (July, August 2015 ; 50.91%), Travel Agents (July, August 2015 ; 1232698.0%), Franshise Services  (July, August 2015 ; 14.79%), Mining Services (July, August 2015 ; 75.58%), Cargo service and conduit services (July, August 2015 ; 8458.41%, 121.30%), Manpower recruitment agents (July, August 2015 ; 188.17%, 795.20%), Auto-workshops (July, August 2015 ; 45216636.00%, 1395.49%), Software or IT based system development consultants (July, August 2015 ; 180.39%, 137.71%), Business support services (July, August 2015 ; 4.99%, 36.48%), Customs Agents (July, August 2015 ; 17.02%, 26.55%), Toll Manufacturing (July, August 2015 ; 2.85%, 384.65%), Port operators, airport operators, airport ground services providers and terminal operators (July, August 2015 ; 38.42%, 26.37%), and Other Services (July, August 2015 ; 140.61%, 110.78%).
