Terrorists group include the names of PTI leaders in their hitlist

Lahore: Pakistan Tehrek-e-Insaf has claimed that some terrorists groups have marked PTI leaders on their hitlist so Punjab Government to provide them security.

In a letter to CM Punjab,PTI said that this is to bring to your notice that on saturday September 5th, 2015, a targeted attack was attempted on Mian Aslam Iqbal, (MPA-PP 148) of Tehreek e Insaaf. The attempt was made through firing on his office /Dera in Samanabad, Lahore.

The incident was reported immediately to the local concerned Police station but before they could make any progress the same office of Mian Aslam Iqbal was targeted  again on Sunday September 6th, 2015, luckily he was busy in public rally for the contesting candidate of NA-122 Abdul Aleem Khan, on that same day and had not returned to the office, therefore, escaped the attack.

This time the attacks were claimed by non other than the spokesperson of Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan, Muhammad Khurasani, through a media statement, threatening further to target the leadership of Pakistan tehreek e Insaf- Punjab, including, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Ch, Sarwar, Organizer Punjab, Abdul Aleem Khan, the contesting candidate for NA-122, Mr. Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed and Mian Aslam Iqbal, MPA.

Now we are concerned on tow points:

1. The threat/ attack from TTP has come at a time when Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf is preparing to contest at NA-122, through by-elections and has launched a full-fledged campaign in the constituency.
2. The Punjab Police has not taken any action till date and is not taking the matter seriously.

In this situation, the lives of the said leaders of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf are under extreme threats, and being custodian of the province of the  province as Chief Minister you are responsible for the safety of life and property of the citizens, therefore, we expect that your goof office shall take an immediate action to provide police protection to the said leaders of the party and also direct the concerned police to find the culprits and arrest them as soon as possible.

We are sure that being chief Minister Punjab, you will provide safe and congenial atmosphere to Pakistan Tehreek E Insaf (Punjab) to continue and fully take part in their by-election campaign for NA-122, without any life threats whatsoever.
