Opposition parties have not decided to evolve an electoral alliance:Liaqat Baloch

Liaqat BalochLahore: Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch has said that the statement of Federal Minister Abdul Qadir Baloch regarding the MQM was a eye opener for the government.

In a statement here, he said that the MQM had won elections by mobilizing the educated, civilized and democratic minded people of Karachi in the name of Mohajir. However, by promoting crime, and culture of  extortion, money laundering, and the target killings of Mohajirs, it had made the mega city of Karachi a hostage.

He said the entire responsibility for placing the Mohajirs in this ugly situation lay with Altaf Husain. He was however confident that Karachi would be freed from the clutches of terrorists and brutes, and return to the national mainstream.

Commenting on the reports of a new political alliance,. Liaqat Baloch said that the opposition parties had not decided to evolve an electoral alliance. Instead, they had agreed to join hands for electoral reforms, transparent and free local bodies polls by minimizing the government intervention. They had also decided to weed out corruption.

Meanwhile, a JI delegation led by Secretary General offered condolences on the sad demise of the mother-in- law of the Punjab Chief Minister, Mian Shahbaz Sharif. The delegation included Dr Farid Ahmed Piracha, Amirul Azeem and Mian Maqsood Ahmed.
