Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi has condemned in the strongest possible words baton charging of doctors and paramedical staff and pulling them with legs and arms and dragging on roads and termed it as a barbarism of the govt.
In a statement issued here today, he said that stopping of Health Allowance of the healers who work day and night to take care of others health is injustice and emphatically called for immediate acceptance of genuine demands of doctors, nurses and other paramedical staff.
Ch Parvez Elahi said that attitude of any good govt is like that of the present rulers and rather it does not make it an issue of ego of holding negotiations with employees belonging to all sectors particularly those rendering public services and demands and problems are solved through talks, but now the situation is that all sectors people are protesting, the govt do not accept their demands and they are forced to resort to strikes and protest as a result of which people suffer very badly but the rulers are only concerned about their rule and not about difficulties and sufferings of the poor and common man.
He said during our tenure doctors and experts of other fields were returning to home from abroad but now such circumstances have been created that they are leaving Pakistan and govt hospitals are being given on contracts.
