PML-N will not make alliance during local bodies’ elections:Rana Sanaullah Khan

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that like general elections, Pakistan Muslim League-N will not make alliance with any political party during local bodies’ elections. However, adjustments can be made with various parties at local level, he added. He said PML-N will prove in local bodies’ elections that Punjab is its bastion.

He was talking to media-men at assembly premises, here today. Rana Sanaullah Khan said that all parties’ alliance against PML-N reflects the power of N-League. He said that a board has been constituted for selection of candidates at district level which has the power to accept any adjustment in selection of candidates. He said that district board will decide selection of candidate with the permission of provincial parliamentary board. Replying to a question, the Law Minister said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will announce relief package for farmers before September 15.

Law Minister said that according to law neither development fund can be released nor any tender awarded after the announcement of election schedule. He said that Local Government Ordinance was approved in 2013 and its period is up to October 14, 2015. He said that after necessary amendments, the said ordinance will be legislated before the expiry of period.
