The provincial departments to fully cooperate for ease of doing business: CS Punjab

Lahore: Chief Secretary Punjab Khizar Hayat Gondal has said that the provincial departments will extend full cooperation in efforts for ease of doing business in Pakistan.

He was chairing a meeting of working group of a committee set up to improve Pakistan’s rating of ease of doing business, at Civil Secretariat.

The Chief Secretary said that there is a need to enhance coordination among federal and provincial departments regarding ease of doing business and exploring investment opportunities. He said that there are vast opportunities of business in the country. He maintained that promotion of foreign investment and economic activities will help overcome unemployment and achieve targets of economic progress. He added that there is a need to improve procedure and rules and regulation for ease of doing business in Pakistan.

The meeting was attended by Secretaries of Law, Finance, Planning and Development Department, Representatives of federal departments, and World Bank and others.

Later, the Chief Secretary chaired a meeting to review arrangements for an international seminar on business opportunities in Punjab. He directed that best arrangements be ensured for the international moot. He said that the international seminar will help highlight investment and business opportunities.

Those among present were: Provincial Minister Tanvir Aslam, Additional Chief Secretary, Secretaries of Finance, Information and Culture, Planning and Development Departments, Commissioner Lahore Division and other officers.
