Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President and former Prime Minister Ch Shujat Hussain held meetings on Friday with Muslim League Functional chief and spiritual head Pir Sibghatullah Shah Rashidi, prominent Muslim Leaguer and former Sindh Chief Minister Ghous Ali Shah and former President Pervez Musharraf in Karachi during which there unanimity about alliance of the Muslim Leagues.
During these meetings Ch Shujat Hussain was accompanied by MNA Tariq Bashir Cheema and PML Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh.
Talking to media at Karachi airport, Ch Shujat Hussain expressed gratitude to these leaders and lauded the role of Pak Army for law and order which work should have been done by political parties, operation against corruption and criminal should be carried out throughout the country, he is looking for spectacle through which he can see local bodies elections being held in Sindh and Punjab, all political parties should dissociate from criminal elements in their ranks, treason charge against Pervez Musharraf is wrong.
He also visited the residence of former Home Minister Sindh Zulfiqar Mirza and former Speaker National Assembly Fehmida Mirza to offer his condolences over Justice (R) Zafar Ali Mirza’s demise.
In his talk with the media he further said that instead of looking at which way the circumstances in the country are heading attention is being paid only to statement-mongering, the role which Pak Army has played in establishing law and order in the country is unprecedented, cool air blowing from Karachi also to the whole country, action must be taken against proclaimed and criminal elements, all parties should refrain from propaganda and expose and force the miscreants to surrender like Balochistan.
In reply to a question Ch Shujat Hussain predicted that MQM resignations will be withdrawn. He pointedly stated that Muslim League was never a dead horse, this is the only party which is alive still, new parties also used the name of Muslim League, after uniting all Muslim Leagues contacts will also be established with like-minded parties because all will have to work together in the national interest. He said he has advised Imran Khan and other opposition parties not to contest bye-election in the presence of present Election Commission. About operation in Karachi he said that the operation is not being conducted against any one party, if someone has objection then his view point must also be heard.
He strongly condemned and expressed great anger over martyrdom e of Pakistani civilians due to Indian firing and shelling and fanning terrorism and subversive activities in Karachi, Balochistan and other parts of Pakistan and appreciated the bold stance taken by the Army Chief in this regard.
Responding to a question, he said when the country has no Foreign Minister then what about the foreign policy.
Ch Shujat Hussain said that the people are with Pak Army and wholly appreciate its role, on the Independence Day national spirit and enthusiasm was witnessed after many years this will also be demonstrated on September 6.
