Ch Shujat Hussain presides over General Council meeting Pakistan Kabaddi Federation

Lahore: Former Prime Minister Ch Shujat Hussain presided over General Council meeting Pakistan Kabaddi Federation held at his residence here today.

The meeting was attended by office-bearers of Pakistan Army, Navy, Air Force, Railways, Police, SNGPL, WAPDA, HEC, Islamabad, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pukhtoonkhwah, Balochistan and Azad Kashmir Kabadi Federation. Every player was given prize money of Rs five lakhs each in the meeting.

Addressing the meeting, Ch Shujat Hussain said that promotion of sports alone is the guarantee of healthy and peaceful Pakistan, sports are messengers of peace and love in the world, sports add to the prestige and reputation of not only younger generation but also of the nation and the country.

The meeting decided to hold camp and organize national tournament in preparation of the South Asian Games which are being held in India. Besides Chief of Army Staff Trophy, Inter-Departmental Tournaments, Police and Sui Gas announced to organize national championship.

Pakistan and Asia Kabadi Association Secretary General told the meeting that junior kabadi camp is being organized Sports Complex Islamabad for encouragement of children where children under 18 years will be provided professional guidance. Consultation was also held in the meeting for organizing kabadi leagues on the pattern of India.

Regarding women kabadi team, it was stated that for representation in the International Olympic Council (IOC) having women team is a condition on which work has been started.

Ch Shujat Hussain directed that dress code be made compulsory for Pakistan women kabadi players like Iran so that Islamic countries women can represent Pakistan in kabadi while remaining in full dress.
