Lahore: Ashiana Club Sabzazar Lahore trounced Friends Club by 2-0 in the Independence Day Volleyball title clash played under the auspices of Sports Board Punjab (SBP) on Friday evening at Punjab Stadium.

Zaheer Niazi of Friends Club was adjudged Man of the match for his impressive performance. Later, the prominent performers of the event were given cash prizes and shields.

Railway Stadium hosted Independence Day male and female weightlifting competition on Friday evening. Saima Manzoor gained first position in 48kg category by lifting 60kg weight. Chief Mechanical Engineer Ghulam Qasim was the chief guest on this occasion.
