Chief Minister constitutes high powered committee to probe Kasur sex case

Lahore: High powered committee comprising Additional IG Operations Punjab Arif Nawaz Khan and Commissioner Lahore Division Abdullah Khan Sumbal has submitted inquiry report of the incident of Depalpur Road, Kasur to Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.

According to the report, six accused involved in abusing children in village have been arrested whereas raids are being conducted for the arrest of three nominated accused.

The Chief Minister directed DPO Kasur that other accused involved in abusing the children should immediately be arrested. He said that the persons involved in such heinous incidents will not escape punishment under the law and Punjab government will award deterrent punishment to the accused as per law.

It may be mentioned that on the instructions of Chief Minister, a high powered committee consisting of Additional IG Operations Arif Nawaz Khan and Commissioner Lahore Division Abdullah Khan Sumbal had been constituted for investigation of the incident occurred four days ago, which after completing its investigation, submitted the report to the Chief Minister.

The committee also submitted a report with regard to the protest launched against these incidents. It was mentioned in the report that the protesters tortured the police as a result of which 20 officials were injured.
