Additional Chief Secretary directs all district overseas committees to improve their performance

Lahore: Additional Chief Secretary Punjab Syed Mubashar Raza has said that all district overseas committees should improve their performance for resolving problems of overseas Pakistanis so that the complaints of overseas Pakistanis could be addressed within timeframe given by Punjab government.

He expressed these views while presiding over a high level meeting of District Overseas Committee Rawalpindi through video link at Civil Secretariat, today.

Commissioner Overseas Commission Punjab M Afzaal Bhatti, Chairman District Overseas Committee Rawalpindi, MPA Iftikhar Ahmed Warsi, DG Overseas Commission Khawaja Daud Ahmed, Director Admin. Nadeem Sarwar, Director Legal Affairs Raja Zubair Ahmed, Director Revenue Home Arjumand and ADC Rawalpindi were also present on the occasion.

During briefing, Commissioner Overseas Commission Punjab Afzaal Bhatti told that district overseas committees have been constituted in all the districts of Punjab for resolving the problems and complaints of overseas Pakistanis.

He said that meetings of these committees are held twice a month in which nature of complaints regarding the concerned districts and relevant steps for their solution are regularly reviewed. He said that a total of 50 complaints have been registered by overseas Pakistanis regarding district Rawalpindi out of which 29 complaints are against Revenue Department, 11 against police, three against sui gas and four complaints against other departments.

Afzaal Bhatti further told that immediate and effective contacts have been made with all the departments for resolving the complaints and instructions have been issued to all the departments to ensure resolution of complaints within timeframe. He said that overseas commission is monitoring the status of complaints on daily basis.

He said that performance of district overseas committees is regularly monitored for immediate resolution of problems of overseas Pakistanis.
