Lahore: Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute & Lahore General Hospital Prof. Khalid Mahmood has said that Emergency ward of LGH is being upgraded by computerization of token system, construction of shed adjacent to Emergency ward for attendants and improvement of services. He said that a nine member committee headed by Dr. Tanveer Anwar has been constituted to accomplish these targets and members of the committee have been directed to submit their recommendations within three days.
Prof. Khalid Mahmood said that a large number of attendants approach to Emergency Ward along with their patients which causes problem in the process of treatment for doctors, nurses and paramedics. This issue would be resolved with the construction of shed adjacent of Emergency Ward where attendants could sit and relax meanwhile, Prof. Khalid Mahmood added.
He further said that it is very important to start treatment of the patient immediately after his or her arrival and token process should not be allowed to waste even a single moment. Therefore token system is being upgraded by shifting it to computerized machines. He said that LGH administration is serving the ailing community in accordance with the health vision of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
Now AMS and DMS would take round to Emergency Ward during night also to redress the patient’s related issues. He told that the committee members would be Dr. Hamad Nasir, Dr. Sheraz Anjum, Dr. Faryad Hussain, Dr. Mudassar Sidique, Dr. Tahsina Zafar, Dr. Shahid Mayu and Deputy Chief Nursing Superintendent Farhat Mahboob.
