Empty building of Nawaz Sharif Hospital Layyah makes CM Punjab furious

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif after his visit to flood affected areas of Layyah held a high level meeting at Lahore Airport regarding Nawaz Sharif Hospital Layyah.

The Chief Minister expressed displeasure over non-posting of staff in Nawaz Sharif Hospital Layyah and non-installation of machinery and said that matters will not run in this way in Punjab and I have personally visited hospital and reviewed the situation on the spot.

He said that despite spending crores of rupees there is neither staff nor machinery in Nawaz Sharif Hospital Layyah and there is only empty building. He said that non availability of staff and machinery in the hospital is lamentable and the government matters do not run like this. He said that there are only files but hospital is empty. The staff is getting salaries without doing anything and the funds for medicines are being usurped. The concerned authorities are not afraid of Allah Almighty or the people.

Shahbaz Sharif asked the concerned authorities if you had performed your responsibilities and there was an effective check and balance system the situation would not have reached this point. He said that anyone who wants to live in Punjab will have to work. He said that I am answerable to ten crore people and Allah Almighty and will not allow anyone to show such irresponsibility. He said that those who have wasted hard earned money of the people will have to give answer.

The Chief Minister said that such officers who do not work or go to field will be removed. He said that secretaries who will not pay field visits and review the situation have no justification to stay in Punjab. He said that secretaries will have to go into field every week and gain information about ground realities about the performance of their department.

The Chief Minister directed Chief Secretary to evolve a plan regarding visits of the secretaries. Provincial Finance Minister Ayesha Ghaus Pasha, Hanif Abbasi, Chief Secretary Khizar Hayat Gondal, Chairman Planning & Development, Secretary Finance, Secretary Health and concerned authorities attended the meeting.
