There is low and medium flood in river Indus : PDMA

Lahore:  Punjab Government has said while issuing flood warning that there is low and medium flood in river Indus whereas all other water-channels and nullahs are flowing normally.

According to Indus Flood Report issued by PDMA at 08.30 pm, there is low flood at Tarbela and Kalabagh in river Indus while flow of water is 3 lakh 35 thousand cusec and four lakh two thousand cusec respectively.

There is medium flood at Chashma and Taunsa and flow of water is four lakh 63 thousand cusec and four lakh 52 thousand cusec respectively.

According to PDMA, district administration Mianwali has shifted 411 persons from low lying areas to safer places and set up six relief camps. In district Layyah, 30 relief camps have been set up with a view to potential flood while 498 people have been shifted to safer places, in Dera Ghazi Khan, 41 relief camps have been set up and 12 persons have been shifted from low lying areas, in district Muzaffargarh, 16 relief camps have been set up and 263 persons shifted, in district Rajanpur, 32 relief camps have been set up and 1050 persons shifted from low lying areas and riverine bed, in Rahim Yar Khan, 20 relief camps have been set up while 8033 persons sifted to safer places from low lying areas and riverine bed.
