Lahore: Provincial Minister for Labour & Human Resource Raja Ashfaq Sarwar has said that Nawaz Sharif Social Security Hospital has a unique place in teaching hospitals with regard to provision of medical facilities to labourers and their families.
He expressed these views during briefing given by newly appointed MS of the hospital during visit to Nawaz Sharif Social Security Hospital Lahore. Commissioner Social Security & Secretary Labour Ishrat Ali, Vice Commissioner Khalid Saleem, MS Nawaz Sharif Hospital Prof. Dr. Ashraf Nizami, Director Medical Social Security Nasir Jamal Pasha, DMS Hospital, heads of various sections and doctors were present on the occasion.
Newly appointed MS Prof. Dr. Ashraf Nizami while giving briefing expressed the hope that all long standing issues of the hospital will be solved on priority basis during next six months under long term programme. He further said that emergent measures are being taken for making non-functional electro medical equipments, CT scan and Gama camera operational under short and medium term programmes.
The Minister directed the MS that no leniency should be shown in the treatment facilities including free medical tests to labourers, patients and their families. He expressed the hope that new MS will utilize all its professional capabilities for making Nawaz Sharif Security Hospital a quality hospital. He assured full cooperation and funding by Punjab government for the improvement of hospital condition and said that provision of best treatment facilities to poor and labour segment is top priority of the government.
Commissioner Social Security Ishrat Ali also spoke on the occasion. Raja Ashfaq Sarwar warned the MS of the hospital to discourage the trend of use of hospital employees for domestic work, stop illegal use of ambulance and other resources of the hospital. He said that he will pay surprise visit to hospital after one month to review steps being taken with regard to medical facilities. He assured that problems of doctors and other staff will be resolved on priority basis.
