Lahore: Acting Ameer of the Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Liaqat Baloch, has urged all democratic and political forces to unite on a national agenda incorporating the defense of the country’s ideology, democracy and the constitution, equitable distribution of national resources, the enforcement of the national language Urdu and wiping out corruption and nepotism. He was addressing Iftar programmes at Kalar Syedan and Lahore.
Liaqat Baloch said that democracy was a practicable system of government that could accommodate all sections of the society and people from all walks of life. He said it was the responsibility of the government to solve the problems of the masses and provide them relief. However, he said, the country’s politics was in the hands of a corrupt and incompetent elite who had plunged the motherland in numerous crises one after the other in their pursuit of selfish ends.
He said that the honest and patriotic people in the country were divided. He said the JI was striving hard to unite these people and free them from the clutches of tyrants in the government.
The JI acting chief said that AW’s involvement in Karachi and Balochistan had become crustal clear. He said that the criminals and the anti state elements must be wiped out and added that the government , armed forces and the civil establishment should not compromise nor be blackmailed from any forces.
