Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif today visited Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Gujranwala and inquired after under-treatment persons injured due to train accident.
The Chief Minister met every injured jawan and inquired about his health. He prayed for the early recovery of the injured.
Talking on the occasion, Shahbaz Sharif said that he is deeply grieved over the train accident in Gujranwala. Commandant CMH Gujranwala, Brig. Dr. Aizaz informed the Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif about the treatment of injured persons and treatment facilities being provided to them.
Station Commander Brig. Mohy-ul-Islam, Federal Minister for Industries & Commerce Khurrum Dastagir, Provincial Ministers Rana Sanaullah, Col. (Retd.) Shuja Khanzada and Member National Assembly Justice (Retd.) Iftikhar Ahmed Cheema also accompanied the Chief Minister.
Earlier, Shahbaz Sharif went to Corps Headquarter Gujranwala where he was given a briefing about the train accident in Gujranwala. Corps Commander Gujranwala Lt. Gen. Ghayur Mahmood was also present during the briefing.
The Chief Minister was told that rescue operation was possible due to joint efforts of civil administration and army. Concerned institutions arrived at the site on time and immediately started rescue activities. Army officials during the briefing lauded the timely services of district officers, police, rescue-1122 and other concerned institutions.
Speaking on the occasion, Shahbaz Sharif said that he is deeply shocked and grieved over the loss of precious human lives in tragic train accident. He said that the entire nation is grieved over this tragic incident. He said that Pak army is rendering historic and exemplary services in the war against terrorism and the whole nation is standing with Pak army in this war.
