Lahore: Central leader of Pakistan Muslim League,MPA Moonis Elahi has demanded the construction of Kalabagh Dam to fill the shortage of water in the country and for cheaper electricity.He said Pakistani nation required energy projects like Kalabagh Dam the rulers had deployed huge funds to exhibitionist and extravagant schemes.Kalabagh Dam project could provide electricity at Rs 2 per unit to the consumers the rulers were focusing on projects that if completed would provide electricity at Rs 25 per unit. He said that the rulers would be held accountable by the nation for their such unpardonable sins.
The meeting was attended by members of PML Build Kalabagh Dam Movement. Also present in the meeting among others was the movement convener Rizwan Mumtaz Ali. Strongly criticizing the flawed policies of N government particularly its Metro Bus project.He said that the recent deaths in Karachi and nationwide ongoing protests against load shedding were testimony to the present government’s failed and misplaced policies.
Moonis Elahi hoped that it wouldn’t be long before all Kalabagh Dam opponents would come to reason and support its construction in the nation’s best interest. Moonis Elahi commended the efforts of PML Build Kalabagh Dam Movement members and directed them to double their efforts.
