PML-N workers to prepare for Local Body Elections: Hamza Shahbaz

Lahore: Central PML-N leader Hamza Shahbaz MNA has said that present government has successfully countered a number of challenges during the last two years and is moving towards progress and prosperity of the country.

Addressing a meeting of Lahore City in connection with local bodies elections, Hamza Shahbaz appealed to the party workers and office-bearers to uphold the interest of the party and move forward with unity and teamwork so that PML-N could also achieve success in Lahore City like the elections in Lahore Cantonment Board.

He said due to blessings of Allah Almighty and sincerity of leadership, metro, orange line and other mega development projects will be completed while load-shedding and different problems being faced by the country will be resolved till 2018.

He said that local bodies elections in KPK province of those who were leveling allegations of rigging against others have become a question mark and those who had gone to judicial commission now have no answer. He said that time is fixed for everything and things are going to get clear.

He said that Chinese President has visited Pakistan and development projects have been launched. Hamza Shahbaz said that due to performance of PML-N, it has won splendid success in bye-elections in Nankana Sahib, Multan and Mandi Bahauddin.

He said that active workers will be given opportunity to come forward in the local bodies elections and MNAs, MPAs, Party Presidents and General Secretaries of concerned constituencies should immediately hold meetings and prepare recommendations regarding the names of chairmen and vice chairmen of 274 union councils of Lahore.

Hamza Shahbaz said that those workers will also be adjusted who despite fulfilling merit will not be able to get ticket for local bodies elections. He expressed the hope that historic results will be seen in the local bodies elections in Lahore and PML-N will achieve a record victory.

President PML-N Lahore Muhammad Pervaiz Malik said that party committees set up in every provincial constituency will be bound to send recommendations within next five days after which the final list will be approved by the party leadership.

General Secretary Lahore Khawaja Imran Nazir, Syed Tauseef Shah, Mian Marghoob Ahmad and Khawaja Ahmad Hasaan gave a briefing to the meeting regarding local bodies elections while Provincial Ministers Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, Provincial Advisor Kh. Salman Rafiq, Members National and Provincial Assemblies and presidents and general secretaries of PML-N of all constituencies of Lahore attended the meeting.
