Sports Board Punjab will continue its efforts for the better sporting future : Usman Anwar

the prize distribution ceremony of National Junior Tennis Championship at Bagh-e-Jinnah Tennis courtsLahore: Director General Sports Punjab Usman Anwar has said that Punjab government and Sports Board Punjab will continue their efforts for the better sporting future of the country; he was talking to media at the prize distribution ceremony of National Junior Tennis Championship at Bagh-e-Jinnah Tennis courts .

Earlier, Secretary Punjab Lawn Tennis Association (PLTA) and Director of the Tournament Rashid Malik received the DG SBP. Before prize distribution, DG SBP also watched the young players in action during the last encounters of the championship. Rashid Malik also presented a shield to DG SBP on this occasion.

Talking to media, DG SBP said Punjab government was investing heavily on sports venues and players. “During the next financial year, we are building several stadia and academies. SBP is already bearing the expenditures of young tennis stars Samir Iftikhar and Ushna Sohail. We are also engaging international coaches so that our talented youth could get world class training,” he added.the prize distribution ceremony of National Junior Tennis Championship at Bagh-e-Jinnah Tennis courts

Answering a query regarding the completion of tennis court in Nishtar Park Sports Complex, DG SBP informed that the tennis stadium will be completed within next few months. “It will be first international level tennis venue in our country. After completion, we will hold world class tennis tournament in Nishtar Park Sports Complex where top tennis stars of the world will exhibit their game,” he added.

As far as results are concerned, Haris Irfan ul Haq (U-16 & U-18 boys), Noor Malik (Under-18 girls), Hamza Bin Rehan (U-14), and Abdullah Adnan (U-12) demonstrated wonderful game and clinched the titles in their respective age groups.
