Minister Food visits Sunday Bazars to monitor the prices of daily commodities

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Food & Chairman Cabinet Price Control Committee Bilal Yasin has said that Punjab government has evolved a coordinated strategy for continuous supply of cheap and quality edible items to the people during Ramazan-ul-Mubarak so that fasting people could not face any difficulty during this holy month. Instructions have been issued to district administration in this regard, he added.

He expressed these views while talking to consumers during surprise visits to different Sunday bazaars in Lahore today.

TMOs Gulshan-e-Ravi, Shadman and Wahdat Colony also accompanied the minister. During his visit to Gulshan-e-Ravi Sunday bazaar, weights and measures of some shopkeepers were not correct upon which immediate action was taken against Labour Inspector and issued showcase notice to him. He directed Secretary Labour to immediately set right the matters regarding weights in order to avoid any complaint especially in Ramazan.

Bilal Yasin also inspected Shadman Sunday bazaar where edible items were available in abundance at cheaper rates. On inquiring, consumers informed the Minister all facilities are available to them in this Sunday bazaar. The Minister had directed to install new tents in Wahdat Colony Sunday bazaar on last Sunday upon which new tents have been installed in Sunday bazaar.

The Minister while talking to women consumers told that Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has given subsidy on daily use commodities for the facility of people during Ramazan-ul-Mubarak as a result of which common man will benefit and quality essential items will be available on cheaper rates in Sunday bazaars during the whole Ramazan and people will not have to face any difficulty.

Bilal Yasin further said that Punjab government has taken special steps for the welfare of women in budget 2015-16 due to which basic rights will be ensured to women and they will be able to support their family through respectable employment. He informed that facilities have been given to the people of all segments in the budget which will reduce economic burden upon them and they will live their life in a better way.
