A meeting of the Review Committee on the ICC World Cup held at Gaddafi Stadium

PCB chief Shaharyar KhanLahore: A meeting of the Review Committee on the ICC World Cup was held today (Friday, 12th June 2015) at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore which was chaired by Shaharyar M. Khan with other members being Najam Sethi, Subhan Ahmad, Wasim Bari and Iqbal Qasim.

The Committee unanimously decided to expand the scope of their review to include Pakistan’s dismal tour in Bangladesh and reiterated the purpose of the review being to establish reasons for the below par performance and to suggest ways to improve upon such performances.

Some of the areas highlighted and agreed by the Committee which require strengthening were:

(a)                Strategic Thinking

(b)               Fielding and Fitness

(c)                Pick and Stick Policy

(d)               Positive Team Culture

The Committee agreed that it was important to undertake a review of the players and support staff performance after every tour as a measure of assessment and there should be accountability at every stage.

The independent members on the Committee Wasim Bari and Iqbal Qasim have been asked to work on these as well as to assess the Bangladesh tour.

Further meetings of the Committee will be held in due course.
