The business community to patronize the young talented players: Usman Anwar

Usman AnwarLahore: Our country has no dearth as far as talent is concerned. Our potential youth just needs patronization and proper guidance. The recent tour of Zimbabwe cricket team has great significance in regard to revival of international cricket in Pakistan; these views were expressed by Director General Sports Punjab Usman Anwar while addressing a ceremony held in connection with recent successful tour of Zimbabwe cricket team in a local hotel on Tuesday night.

DG SBP said tour of Zimbabwe cricket team has virtually opened the door of international cricket in Pakistan. “More top class international cricket and other sports teams will visit Pakistan in near future,” he added.

He appreciated the great role of security forces during the historic tour of Zimbabwe cricket team. “Our police and other security agencies presented a marvelous performance and played a key role in making it a successful show,” he asserted.

Usman Anwar asked the business community to come forward and patronize the young talented players of the country. “Our talented players have proved their potential on several occasions. Most of them belonged to middle or lower middle class and when given a chance they made the entire nation proud through their overwhelming performances both in Pakistan and abroad,” he elaborated while giving example of Asian Snooker Champion Hamza Akbar and kabaddi players.

“Hamza was jobless two years ago but he did not lose his heart and did hard work and resultantly emerged as Asian Snooker Champion. Same is the case with our Kabaddi and other players. Our Kabaddi players are exhibiting their game skill in Britain and earning thousands of pounds per season,” he explained.
