Lahore: Provincial Minister for Women Development Hameeda Waheed ud Din has said that the mutual contacts between Pakistan and Japan will be further promoted. She said this while talking to Japanese Ambassador Hiroshi Inomata, here today.
The Provincial Minister informed the Ambassador about the steps taken by Women Development Department and Punjab government for the welfare of the women. She said that government is taking practical steps for providing socio-economic protection to the women. She told that Women Protection Bill is being presented in the Assembly for approval. She said that help centres are being set up for the women facing violence.
Japanese Ambassador Hiroshi Inomata appreciated the steps taken by Punjab government for empowering women and further promoting relations between both the countries. Parliamentary Secretary for Women Development Rashida Yaqoob, Advisor on Irrigation Agha Ali and others were present on the occasion.
