Educated nations ruling world: PU VC Dr Mujahid Kamran

Lahore: PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran has said that knowledgeable nations are ruling the world and the ignorant and uneducated nations are facing problems because of their distance from knowledge. He was addressing scholarship distribution ceremony regarding Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF) at Al Razi Hall here on Wednesday.

Vice Chairman PEEF Dr Amjad Saqib, Director Undergraduate Studies Prof Dr Amir Ejaz, Acting Treasurer Rao Muhammad Sharif, faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion.

Addressing the ceremony, Dr Mujahid Kamran lauded the revolutionary step taken by Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif for providing financial assistance to needy and talented students. He said that PU ranking was improving because of research-friendly policies introduced by the university administration. He advised the students to keep an eye on their mistakes and qualities of others.

In his address, Dr Amjad Saqib said that PEEF had distributed as many as one hundred thousand scholarships among talented needy students purely on merit basis. He said that PU students have obtained the biggest share as 1825 scholarships worth Rs 200 million (20 crore) had been distributed among shining PU students. He said that we should make collective efforts for betterment of the country and change in society. He lauded PU VC Dr Mujahid Kamran for restoring the glory of the oldest institution of the country.

Later, 291 scholarship cards were issued to 291 PU students.
