Liaqat Baloch addressed a protest rally staged by the Awami Rickshaw union

Liaqat BalochLahore: Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has appreciated the Pakistan much belated move in support of the oppressed Myanmar Muslims and said that Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Pakistan, Indonesia and Malaysia should make joint efforts to stop the eviction and killings of the Rohangiya Muslims.

He was addressing a protest rally jointly staged by the JI and the Awami Rickshaw union to express solidarity with the Myanmar Muslims at Lahore Press Club.

Liaqat Baloch said that there had never been any animosity between the followers of Islam and Buddhism. He said that the eminent Buddhist leader Dalai Lama and Myanmar’s opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi , had always raised their voice against human rights violations but their silence on this issue was meaningful. He said that the silence of the UN, the Muslim world and the human rights bodies won this issue was criminal and deplorable, and added that it was high time that the world leadership stepped forward to stop this bloodshed of the innocent Muslims.

He said that the Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan had promptly reacted to the situation and the other Muslim rulers should emulate his example.

He said that a join protest against the atrocities being perpetrated on the Burmese Muslims would be staged in Islamabad on June 14, all political parties besides minorities representatives would join the protest.
