Budget has added to common man’s miseries: Siraj ul Haq

Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq,  has said that the common man’s problem was atta, not motor vehicles or air-conditioners, and the government had further burdened the masses by increasing the prices of essential items.

Addressing the participants of the JI monthly workshop at Mansoora, on Sunday, he said that an exploitative and class based system prevailed in the country. The ruling elite treated the masses as untouchables and were inflicting every possible tyranny on the people to prolong the status quo.

Hundreds of JI workers from all over the country attended the workshop. JI deputy chief Hafiz Muhammad Idrees, was also present.

Sirajul Haq said that the real hurdle in the way of Islam’s just system was the rulers and not US or Israel, as he rulers did not want the common man to rise to their status or to reach the corridors of power. He said the general public was tired of the prevailing system and would go to any extent for getting rid of the corrupt, oppressive rulers, and added that the JI would provide them as the alternate political force. The JI was trying hard that the common man should reach the assemblies, he added.

Sirajul Haq decried the silence of the world at large, the UN the OIC and the Muslim world over the miserable plight of the Myanmar Muslims. Why don’t the forces who promptly separated East Timor and South Sudan from the Muslims states see the bloodletting of the Myanmar Muslims, he asked. He also   announced a protest demonstration against the oppression on the Rohangiya Muslims by the JI in Islamabad on Thursday, June 14.

Sirajul Haq said that unfortunately, the rulers in Islamabad were Washington’s slaves and looked upon those who recited the holy Quran and talked of the Islamic system, as criminals and would like to throw them into the sea to be drowned.

He said the JI wanted to establish a just and equitable education system in the country wherein the children of the poor worker could get the facilities available to the Prime Minister’s son.  He said under the JI government, the mosque would be the centre of the society and all big government buildings would be converted into colleges and universities and education up to matriculation would be free.
