JI opposed the levy of a new tax named War on Terror on electricity bills

Liaqat BalochLahore: Secretary General, Jamaat e islami, Liaqat Baloch, has strongly opposed the levy of a new tax named War on Terror on electricity bills and said this would break the masses’ back.

In a statement here on Wednesday, he said if the government tried to deprive the masses of their rights, the JI would lodge protest at every level and also approach the courts.

He said the main concern of the government should be to promote economic activity but the rulers were not paying any attention toward that. He said the masses were already burdened under innumerable several taxes on electricity and the government was also not complying with the courts orders in this regard.

Meanwhile, while addressing workers conventions at Lahore, Mandi bahaud din and Gujranwala, Liaqat Baloch condemned India’s brutalities on the Kashmiris struggling for freedom. He said India had been  trying to destabilize Pakistan through terrorism and subversive activities and had also unilaterally closed the doors of dialogue.

Liaqat Baloch said India wanted to abduct Syed Salahud Din and Hafiz Muhammad Saeed but the Pakistani people would frustrate her designs.

He said that Kashmir was a disputed territory and flying Pakistani flags there was no crime.
