The unsung hero is laid to rest wrapped in National Flag

Lahore: The unsung hero SI Abdul Majeed who embarrassed martyrdom during second ODI of Pak-Zimbabwe series was laid to rest wrapped in National Flag. His funeral was offered at Police Lines Qila Gujar Singh. A large number of people from the forces including the IPG Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera,CCPO Lahore Capt Muhammad Ameen Vance,SSP Ops Ayaz Saleem and the martyr’s family attended the funeral prayer.The salute was also presented to the coffin of the unsung hero” SI Abdul Majeed”.

The martyr SI Abdul Majeed was laid to rest in a graveyard next to his residence.

SI Abdul Majeed who was on duty at Gaddafi Stadium Gate during the second ODI of Pak Zimbabwe Series. He gripped the suicide bomber soon after he threw a hand garande upon the police to disperse them for entering the premises of the stadium but the SI Abdul Majeed gripped the attacker strongly till he blown himself and embarrassed martyrdom.

The suicide attacker could not achieved his target due to the brave cop SI Abdul Majeed who had left his home with the commitment to his kids that he would embarrass martyrdom but won’t allow the suicider to cross his duty point.

SI Abdul Majeed sacrificed his life to foil the suicide attack but his great sacrifice could not be acknowledged on media for the sake of National Interest as it could have ended the on-going Pak-Zimbabwe Series and the suicide blast was announced a transformer blast. Moreover it could have created panic among the crowed that could caused a great loss to the humane lives.

He had left behind a widow,three sons and a daughter.
