Chief Secretary Punjab reviews the pace of work on Metro Bus Project

Lahore: Chief Secretary Punjab Khizar Hayat Gondal reviewed the pace of work on Metro Bus Project during a high level meeting at Islamabad. IG Police Punjab Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera, Commissioner Rawalpindi and Project Director Zahid Saeed, head of Metro Bus Project Implementation Committee Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, Chief Commissioner Islamabad, RPO Rawalpindi, IG Police Islamabad, Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Sajid Zafar Daal, representatives of Metro Bus Authority, officers of police and security agencies, Chief Engineer Metro Bus and other senior authorities were also present on the occasion.

The meeting discussed in detail the arrangements of inaugural ceremony of Metro Bus and construction work at all packages of Metro Bus Project. Chief Secretary inquired about the matters relating to arrangements at Metro Bus stations, issuance of bus ticket, parking, security of metro bus and making metro bus journey a comfortable and safe. He said that metro bus will provide best traveling facilities to the citizens in transport sector.

Commissioner Rawalpindi told that Metro Bus Project has entered into final stages of completion. He told that various departments have been assigned the responsibility of renovation of all bus stations of metro bus as a national heritage so that colors of national culture should be witnessed with this project. He also informed about the present situation of the project during a briefing.

Head of Metro Bus Implementation Committee Muhammad Hanif Abbasi told that preparations of a simple and impressive ceremony of this national project have been started and the citizens will soon benefit from this modern traveling facility. The meeting also reviewed the arrangements of inaugural ceremony and completion of Metro Bus Project.

Later, Chief Secretary Punjab Khizar Hayat Gondal along with IG Police Punjab Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera, Commissioner Rawalpindi Zahid Saeed, Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, Chairman CDA, officers of administration and police also visited metro bus station at Pak-Secretariat, Islamabad.
