LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that he is deeply grieved over the death of two lawyers in Daska and Punjab government and people of the province equally share the grief of lawyers’ community. He said that justice will be provided at all cost. He said that complete challan of the case will be submitted in the court within 14 days and he will personally monitor the progress of the case. The Chief Minister said that no one will be allowed to create hindrance in the provision of justice. He said that orders have been issued to transfer DPO Sialkot and concerned DSP so as to fulfill the demands of justice. He said that peaceful protest is the right of lawyers’ community, however, those persons who have burned vehicles and buildings will be taken to task. He sought cooperation of lawyers’ community for bringing the elements involved in ransacking into condign justice.
He expressed these views while talking to a delegation led by Vice Chairperson Punjab Bar Council Farha Ejaz Baig, here today. The meeting offered Fateha for the departed souls and prayed for the early recovery of injured.
Talking to the delegation of Punjab Bar Council, Shahbaz Sharif strongly condemned the tragic incident of Daska and sympathized with the bereaved family. He ordered to transfer DPO Sialkot and concerned DSP so that demands of justice could be fulfilled as per merit. The Chief Minister said that no compromise will be made in provision of justice. He said that this case will be made example by ensuring provision of justice and supremacy of law. He said that barbarism has been committed by killing two innocent lawyers which is highly condemnable. Shahbaz Sharif assured lawyers’ community that justice and law will take its course and complete challan will be submitted in the court within 14 days as per law. He said that no one will be allowed to commit injustice. He said that lawyers’ community plays an important role in moulding public opinion in the society and provision of justice to the people. He said that lawyers play a key role in ensuring supremacy of law.
Vice Chairperson Punjab Bar Council Farha Ejaz Baig and members of the delegation thanked Chief Minister on the assurance of fulfilling demands of justice in Daska incident and added that they are with the Chief Minister in supremacy of law and justice. Provincial Ministers Col. (R) Shuja Khanzada, Mian Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman, Assembly Members Rana Sanaullah, Zaeem Hussain Qadri, Mansha Ullah Butt, Asif Bajwa, Rana Muhammad Afzal, Chief Secretary, Additional Attorney General Pakistan Nasir Bhutta, Inspector General Police, Secretary Home and concerned officials were present on the occasion.
