Ch Shujat Hussain starts working to form grand alliance

Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President and former Prime Minister Ch Shujat Hussain met Pir Sahib Pagara Pir Sibghatullah and later along with him called on former President General Pervez Musharraf at his residence in Karachi on Wednesday.

On these occasions, he was accompanied by Senator Dilawar Abbas and PML Sindh President Haleem Adil Shaikh.

Talking to media afterwards, Ch Shujat Hussain said that he has come Karachi to convey his condolence and sympathies with Ismaili community over Safoora tragedy.

Responding to a question about meetings with former President Pervez Musharraf and Pir Sahib Pagara, he said that objective behind these meetings was not forming or falling of anyone’s government but to form such an national alliance which covers all provinces to strengthen the federation, all sorts of lawlessness be ended and Pakistan should become an Islamic welfare state in real meanings. He said we will have to unite to strengthen the federation. On a question regarding imposition of the Governor’s Rule in Sindh, he said that to impose Governor’s rule was not his business. Earlier on arrival in Karachi large number of PML leaders and workers welcomed Ch Shujat Hussain, chanted slogans and showered flower petals on him.

For expressing sympathy over Safoora tragedy, Ch Shujat Hussain called on Ismaili community leader Sultan Allana at his residence. Conveying his heartfelt grief and sorrow over the attack on very peaceful community’s bus and killing of innocent persons, he said that that all our sympathies were with the bereaved families and we share their grief.
