Lahore: Provincial Minister for Home Col. Retd. Shuja Khanzada has said that foolproof arrangements have been made for providing security to Zimbabwe Cricket Team. He said that ten thousand officers and officials of rangers, elite force and police will provide security to foreign team whereas 3 helicopters will carry out aerial surveillance.
He said this while talking to media men during a meeting in his office, here today. The Provincial Minister said that revival of international cricket in the country after six years is a good omen. He said that after the visit of Zimbabwe Cricket Team, the apprehensions of cricket teams of other countries regarding security will be removed and foreign teams will visit Pakistan like before.
Col. Shuja Khanzada told that instructions have been issued to traffic authorities for keeping flow of traffic smooth. He said that traffic will only be stopped at the time of movement of Zimbabwe cricket team and as soon as the team arrives at stadium or hotel, the traffic will immediately be opened. He appealed to the people to extend cooperation to traffic police.
The Home Minister said that Zimbabwe Cricket Team has expressed complete satisfaction over security matters. He further told that every aspect has been considered in detail while evolving a security plan for the security of Zimbabwe cricket team.
