Minister for Home visits the modern Police Emergency Service 15

Minister InteriorLahore: Provincial Minister for Home Col.(R) Shuja Khanzada has said that the scope of modern Police Emergency Service 15 will be extended to the whole province under a phased programme as it will help in controlling crime.

This was stated by him during a visit to the office of Police Emergency Service 15 in Qila Gujjar Singh, here today. CCPO Muhammad Amin Wains, DIG Operations Dr. Haider Ashraf, SP Headquarters and other senior officers accompanied him. The Home Minister said that modern police service 15 will help in substantial improvement in policing system and maintenance of law and order.

Talking to media men on this occasion, the Minister said that the number of model police stations in Lahore is being increased and work is in progress speedily for setting up model police stations in other big cities of the province as well. He said that the obsolete and traditional police culture will be completely changed by the end of this year which will promote confidence of the people in police.

He further said that on the special instructions of Chief Minister Punjab, a sum of Rs.6.5 billion has already been provided to police in addition to its annual budget for the protection of life and property of citizens and maintenance of law and order. He said that government has decided to provide all out resources and facilities to police so that it could perform it duties efficiently. He said that it has also been decided in principle to provide new vehicles, motorcycles and other facilities to police as soon as possible.

The Home Minister said that all such foreign students whose visas have expired will be sent back to their countries. He appreciated the efforts of CCPO Lahore Muhammad Amin Wains and DIG Operations towards developing modern software for Police Emergency. The Minister also recorded his impression in the visitors’ book regarding his visit to the office of Police Emergency Service 15 and described the project as an important link in the Chief Minister’s programme of provision of facilities to the masses.
